The National Petroleum Institute (INP) of Mozambique announces the closure of the Fourth Mozambique Licensing Round. The round commenced 4th November 2009 and companies had seven and half months to evaluate the available technical data and formulate their applications.

INP is pleased to advise that it has received 6 applications for 11 licenses as follows:

 

Cape Town, November 4th 2009 - Mozambique 4th Licensing Round announced

At the Africa Upstream Conference, the Institute of National Petroleum of Mozambique ( INP ),  announced the opening of the 4th competitive bidding round to explore for hydrocarbons onshore Mozambique. There are seven Areas on offer (over 146,000 sq km), located within the Mozambique Basin, Zambezi Graben and Maniamba Basin and all the information is available on www.inp-mz.com

The 4th License Round close on Friday 30th of April allowing some 6 months to prepare their technical evaluation.  Companies may apply for both full Exploration (EPCC) or Reconnaissance (RCC) contracts.

Maputo, June 2nd 2008 - Mozambique Third Licensing Round closes

The Institute National Petroleum (INP) of Mozambique today announces the closure of the third Mozambique License Round. The License Round commenced on the 6th December 2007 and companies have had some 6 months to evaluate the available technical data and formulate their bids.

INP is pleased to advise that it has received license applications from;

1. SASOL Petroleum International, South Africa (www.sasol.com) - Operator

2. OSHO consortium which would include; " OPII - Orient Petroleum International Inc. (www.opii.com) - Operator " ETA Star Holdings Ltd. (www.etaascon.com) " OSHO Energia Limitada, Mozambique

The round is a competitive bid process and INP will now evaluate the applications on defined criteria which include HSE, financial strength, technical capability and support to Mozambique. Successful applicants will be granted an Exploration and Production Concession Contract (EPC).

INP anticipates that it will announce the results by the end of June 2008.

 

London, 6th December - INP Launches 3rd Mozambique Licensing Round

Burling House, Geological Society - London.  The official launch of the "Mozambique Third Licensing Round" was made at the Geological Society in London  by His Excellency The High Commissioner of Mozambique, Mr Antonio Gumende and the meeting conducted by Mr Arsenio Mabote, Chairman of the Institute National Petroleum (INP).  The function was attended by more than 30 companies, with many other companies

 

Cape Town, 2nd November - INP Announces 3rd Mozambique Licensing Round

Africa Upstream Conference - Cape Town. INP Press Release.  The National Petroleum Institute (INP) of Mozambique is providing advanced notice of the Third Mozambique licensing round for exploration acreage (both onshore and offshore). The official launching of the licensing round will be announced in a function to be conducted by the INP at the Geological Society, Burlington House, Piccadilly, London, W1J 0BG, at 10:30 am on Thursday 6th December 2007. The round will close on June 1st 2008 allowing companies some 6 months to make technical evaluation of the acreage and formulate applications. Senior representatives from INP will be available to answer questions.

 

Pemba, 18th April 2007 - Artumas signs Rovuma Onshore EPC

The Minister of the Mineral Resources, Ms. Esperança Bias, signs on April 18, 2007, in the city of Pemba , the Exploration and Production Contract for Concession for Rovuma Onshore Area, with consorting Artumas Moçambique Petróleos, Limitada and Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH).

  Artumas Moçambique Petróleos, Limitada was a warded the concession Area in 2006. The Rovuma Onshore is located at Rovuma Basin in the Province of Cabo Delegado ( Cape Delgado ).

 

Pemba, 20th December 2006 - Anadarko signs Rovuma Offshore Area 1 EPC

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:APC) today announced it has signed an exploration and production concession contract with the Government of Mozambique for Offshore Area 1 in the Rovuma Basin . Anadarko was awarded the block in Mozambique 's second licensing round earlier this year.

 

Maputo , 8th March 2006

 The Government of the Republic of Mozambique , through the Ministry of Mineral Resources and the Institute of National Petroleum (INP) is pleased to announce the results of the competitive bidding round to explore for hydrocarbons in the Rovuma Basin .

 

February 28th 2006, Maputo, Evaluation Update 

INP is pleased to advise that the evaluation of the bids is nearly complete and plan to make formal announcement the week of the 6th of March.

 

January 31st 2006, Maputo, License Round Closes 

INP is pleased to announce the closure of the Second Mozambique License Round at 12 noon today.  Seven applications have been submitted, details of the companies (Operators) and the blocks applied for are available on the INP Website.

 

November 14th to 18th, Maputo, INP Clarification Meetings 

INP is pleased to offer companies the opportunity to visit Maputo to meet and discuss questions concerning applications for the  Mozambique Second License Round.

November 9th to 11th Africa Upstream - Cape Town 

INP will be represented at the 12th Annual Africa Upstream Conference is the world's largest and most significant exploration and development event on Africa for the global oil exploration and gas-LNG industry Calendar, with key African Government decision-makers and senior oil executives present along with senior executive players across the African value chain. In 2005, there are 47 Speakers from the senior executive level of Super-Majors, leading Independents, Governments, and National Oil Companies.

September 20th - GIS Database Available

INP and PGS are please to announced the availability of a new GIS (Geographical Information System) database covering Mozambique.  A brief presentation covering the data types and example maps can be downloaded from the website (Please contact huw.edwards@pgs.com).

August 15th 2005 - Maputo, INP Data Room Opens

MAPUTO - A new additional data room opened today on schedule, within the newly refurbished INP offices in Maputo. This data room compliments the London based data room (located within the PGS offices) and is to assist companies in there preparation for applications in the Second Mozambique licensing Round.. The round is focused on the Rovuma Basin in Northern Mozambique and applications close on the 31st January 2006.

LONDON - In London today the National Petroleum Institute (INP) announces the launch of the Second Mozambique licensing round.  The round is focused on the Rovuma Basin in Northern Mozambique and applications close on the 31st January 2006.

 

July 15th 2005 - Maputo, CONCESSÃO DE ÁREAS DE PESQUISA

MAPUTO - O Ministério dos Recursos Minerais através do Instituto Nacional de Petróleo (INP) vai proceder ao lançamento do concurso para a concessão de áreas de pesquisa no bloco de Rovuma. O lançamento oficial do concurso ocorre hoje dia 15 de Julho as 10:30 horas em Londres, onde estão representadas grande parte das companhias internacionais de Petróleo que actuam a nível mundial.

 

  July 5th 2005 - Mozambique Second Licensing Round

The National Petroleum Institute (INP) of Mozambique is now able to release details of the Second Mozambique licensing round for exploration acreage. The official launching of the licensing round will be announced in a function to be conducted by the INP at the Hilton London Heathrow Airport at 10:30 am on the 15th July 2005.

June 22nd - AAPG, Pre Announcement

The National Petroleum Institute (NPI) of Mozambique will announce on the 15th July 2005 the second Mozambique bidding round for exploration acreage. This bidding round is focused on the Rovuma Basin (both onshore and offshore) Northern Mozambique, the acreage on offer extending from the port of Nacala in the South to the border with Tanzania in the North.
